Has negativity taken over your frame of mind? Depression and sadness can do a lot more to hinder you in the dating process than you might expect. Being single can be an inspiring process…in the beginning. But after months or years of being on the lookout, it can be draining. Are you feeling drained? Tired of being the single one at the Thanksgiving table? Don’t worry – I have a plan for you.
Take out a pen and a piece of paper, or your favorite electronic device, and start a list. You’re going to write down all the reasons that you – right now – are grateful for being single. Exhale any sad or angry thoughts, focus on the gratitude, and start writing. If you can’t make it to 20 things then you need to sit down and dig deeper. Remember that gratitude doesn’t have to be deep to be real – being thankful for the basic things and even the silly things is important too. If you take some time with this list every day, really focus on all the good things in your life, you might be surprised what a difference it makes in your attitude toward dating and life in general. And that sure would be something to be grateful for, wouldn’t it?
